Students Share First Drafts of Persuasive Speeches in Thursday’s Class

Students began presenting the first drafts of their persuasive speeches during the Jan. 24 class. From saving narwhals to ending texting and driving and limiting congressional terms, they are off to a great start with research and development of their speeches.
As a first-time visitor to the Guided by Kids classroom, I was beyond impressed with their work and the feedback students provided to one another. Their enthusiasm to present and share ideas in discussions exceeded that in many college classrooms.
Students will continue to present their persuasive speeches during the next class on Feb. 7. There is great potential in this group, and I am excited to see the students’ progress in the upcoming months.
